Elcho Castle is a very well preserved 16th-century tower house and overlooks the River Tay. Elcho Castle is a short drive from Perth and has a recently planted orchard. The castle is managed by Historic Scotland and is open to the public from the 1st April to the 30th of September. A small entrance charge is made, however for Historic Scotland members it is free to visit. Guide books are available from the small information building on the site. This is a great place to visit with all the family.
